It was Christmas Eve 1945 when a fire broke out at the West Virginia home of George and Jennie Sodder, where they lived with nine of their ten children. George and Jennie, and four of the nine children escaped the fire. Maurice, 14, Martha Lee, 12, Louis, 10, Jennie, 8, and Betty, 6, would never be seen or heard from again. George and Jennie Sodder were convinced for the rest of their lives that their five missing children survived, and they would spend their lives searching for them. This is the mysterious disappearance of the Sodder children.
